Jamie Cook of Credit Suisse lands in third place for a second consecutive year. In December, when shares of Fluor Corp. tumbled to $39.64 she dubbed the Irving, Texas–based oil-and-gas refining-and-exploration-services company a top pick for 2010, on the strength of its upcoming overseas projects. (Cook had first urged clients to overweight the stock way back in March 2007, when it was trading at a split-adjusted $43.10.) The share price had gushed to $44.66 by late August, rising 12.7 percent since being elevated to top pick. During the same period the sector was flat. “She was right on Fluor,” applauds one buy-side enthusiast.
