"They provide a consistent, thorough and insightful news flow on a wide universe."

It's three straight years at No. 1 for the five-strong J.P. Morgan Cazenove crew led by London-based Andreas Willi, who turns 42 in mid-February. The analysts scaled back coverage over the past year from 41 companies to 34, but they expect to add more names in the coming months, Willi says. Last year's top large-cap pick, France's Schneider Electric, holds that title again this year. Shares of the circuit breaker and automation systems manufacturer soared 40.1 percent in 2012, from €39.15 to €54.83, and should perform well again this year, thanks to "above-average pricing power" and exposure to emerging markets, "where penetration should grow," Willi contends. One fund manager headquartered in Germany praises the team leader for his "really good access to top company managements, given his long time in the sector." — Ben Mattlin
